On October 1, 2019, the Autism Academy of South Carolina, a Columbia-based nonprofit that serves children with autism - rebranded to honor its founders, Lorri Unumb and her husband, Dan Unumb. The Unumbs founded the Autism Academy in 2010 after searching the Midlands of South Carolina for a center to provide high-quality services for their son, Ryan, after he was diagnosed with autism.
