The flight for Gender Affirming Care in Texas -- Montrose Center's Bringing in the Green -- Out Candidate for Harris County Commisioner's Court

We speak with Brian Klosterboer, staff attorney for the ACLU Texas about the recent letter from the governor calling gender affirming care as child abuse. We discuss what the ramifications are of this letter and what is being done currently. The American Civil Liberties Union of Texas is the leading civil rights organization in the Lone Star State. Since our formation in 1938, they have worked in the courts, the legislature, and through public education to protect civil rights and individual liberty. Their mission is to be the unyielding guardian and promoter of freedom, justice, equality, and dignity of all people, particularly for those who are still fighting to secure the full exercise of their civil rights and liberties in Texas.

Then, we speak with Chief Development Officer, Kennedy Loftin, of the Montrose Center about their upcoming 30th annual "Bringin' in the Green" event. The event benefits rapid rehousing services for local LGBTQ homeless youth. Services include in-depth case management and assistance with rent, furniture and utilities for safe, stable housing.

ME/US/U is the collaborative and collective work of a group of Susquehanna English Students that is written, recorded, edited and published on-campus with the help of Dr. Heather Lang. Together this eclectic group dives into topics such as regional dialects, activism, books that shaped us, the queer community, and much more. Grab your headphones and a warm drink and come dive in with us. The JOIN Podcast The Friends of the Joiners Arms The JOIN Podcast, from Friends of the Joiners Arms, shares the voices and insights of members of our LGBTIQ+ community who are too often sidelined as we discuss building queer spaces that are accessible and affirming for all. In this six-part series, JOIN Project contributors explore how homelessness and insecure immigration status create painful barriers to queer spaces… and explain how we as a community can bring those barriers down! It's OK to Say Gay Audacy During an era where proposed "Don't Say Gay" and anti-trans laws are growing across the U.S., It's OK to Say Gay celebrates LGBTQ+ voices while holding conversations that get allies to listen. Hosted by Femi Redwood, this series features engaging interviews, inclusive storytelling, and informative deep dives into issues affecting the queer community.
