A agenda ambiental tem sido uma das grandes preocupações das organizações internacionais e em diversos países do mundo. No Brasil, a pauta voltou a ganhar destaque com a chegada do Governo Lula 3. Nesta semana, nossas consultoras Amanda Roza, Fernanda César e Raquel Alves analisam a política de desmatamento zero do novo governo e a retomada de programas voltados para o meio ambiente extintos no governo de Jair Bolsonaro. Durante a última viagem aos Estados Unidos, o Presidente Lula da Silva disse que quer zerar o desmatamento no Brasil até 2030. Na avaliação das nossas especialistas, apesar do discurso amplo da ministra do Meio Ambiente, Marina Silva, as propostas apresentadas até o momento não demonstram ir nessa direção. O novo governo tenta retomar as doações para o Fundo Amazônia como vitrine para fomentar e garantir mais investimentos para a pauta ambiental no país. A situação dos indígenas yanomamis colocou em alerta a necessidade de fiscalização e os efeitos do garimpo ilegal para a sobrevivência dos povos originários brasileiros. A política indígena tem uma relação muito forte com a agenda ambiental. Nossas consultoras também comentam a recriação do Pró-Catador, programa que visa promover o protagonismo dos catadores no processo de reaproveitamento de materiais recicláveis e reutilizáveis no Brasil, e aprimorar o modelo atual de economia circular e logística reversa do País.
