A Cor Negra: Conversations on the Black Diaspora A Cor Negra The "A Cor Negra Podcast" seeks to :- Create an open ended digital humanities document presentingknowledge on the black diaspora from several perspectives. Providea learning resource to encourage high school and undergraduates topursue study in Africana/Latin American Studies- Foreground (center) narrative, perspectives, and knowledgeproduction of Black women. #citeblackwomen by highlighting voicesin the field on and off campus and internationally- Build a larger series on the Black Diaspora including projects on the Afro-Caribbean, Afro Arab, Afro Asian, Afro Latino worlds, etc..Thank you to Dr. Luciana da Cruz Brito and Sallie Rouse for the opening speech by Lélia Gonzalez. Running to the Noise Oberlin College & Conservatory When First Lady Michelle Obama spoke to the graduating class of Oberlin College and Conservatory in 2015, she encouraged students to embrace Oberlin’s history and run to the “noise”— those challenging, contentious situations that threaten to divide us. As the first college in America to officially embrace the admission of black students, and the first co-ed school to grant bachelor’s degrees to women, Oberlin has been Running to the Noise almost since our inception.
