Comparing ourselves is like a humankind pastime, we've been doing it for so long. But why would we want to support these beliefs that we aren't good enough? Today, we get right into the conversation about how we have been conditioned to compare ourselves to others and what others deem as successful. Instead of being proud of ourselves for all of our beautiful gifts and talents, we shame ourselves for not being like someone else or being different. What would it be like to replace this shame with love? Acceptance? Belonging?

In this episode, I share about:

  • my recent experience facing comparison
  • why it's sometimes not easy to "trust where you're at"
  • why our egos get triggered when comparing
  • the shoulds and how we can learn to let go
  • our uniqueness and how it's incomparable
  • some reframes I have used to clear my mind
  • why I believe you're right where you're meant to be

Maybe the darkest of all timelines. Definitely not one of the good timelines. Maybe it’s always been a dark timeline, maybe the Hadron collider screwed us over. Science may never know. What we do know is that we live in the void. The void, a place where a chittering mass of void crabs can infest a person suit and win the presidency. The void, a place where we're just clever enough to know that climate change is happening, but not quite clever enough to do anything about it. The void seems terrible and cruel, but it loves you, in its own ironic way. Explicit Embrace the Suck with Nick Bare and Chase Chewning Operation Podcast Hosted by Army veterans Chase Chewning (SSG) and Nick Bare (1LT), this podcast expands on the philosophy that sometimes we have to endure what we must in order to advance on the battlefield of life - EMBRACE THE SUCK. This is a very common phrase heard in the US Armed Forces, a mindset that serves us now in our civilian lives just as much as it did while on active duty. Explicit
