She became an overnight sensation on the stage and soon began appearing in many other plays. Her wit, charm, and beauty made her a favorite of the King, and she became his mistress in 1668. They had two sons, Charles and James. Nell Gwyn's life was full of adventure and scandal. She was a fiercely independent woman who fought for her rights and didn't let anyone take advantage of her.
