Northland Spray Foam Insulates A Beautiful Cottage Overlooking Pine lake in Backus Northland Spray Foam Insulation was contracted to insulate, air seal and soundproof a beautiful home in Backus Minnesota overlooking Pine Mountain Lake. This beautiful cottage style home has an open concept, vaulted cathedral ceilings and other esthetic architectural details that could only be properly insulated and sealed with spray foam insulation. 2lb Closed-cell Spray Foam Insulation In Exterior Walls And Ceilings Northland Spray Foam Insulation installed closed cell spray foam in all the exterior walls and ceilings of both the home and garage, including the cold floor in the crawl space, sealing up the exterior building shell in one big warm spray foam blanket. Attention to detail was our first priority on this project. No gaps, cracks or spaces between adjoining or sistered lumber!  All of these cracks and seams throughout the home were sealed with caulking to ensure an airtight building envelope for this project. Blown in BIBS Blanket System for Sound Control Spray foam isn’t the only insulation material used in this cute little home on the lake.  Sound control was another priority for this homeowner. Northland’s fiberglass crew installed a  breathable netting to the ceiling joists and fiberglass was blown into the ceiling cavities, filling the space with sound absorbing fiberglass insulation. Fiberglass Batts were also installed on all of the inside walls, to  help dampen the sound transmission between rooms. Air-Tight, Energy Efficient Insulation Systems After Northland Spray Foam Insulation’s  team of professional sprayed polyurethane insulation installers and fiberglass installation crews were finished sealing up and soundproofing the project, these happy homeowners are being left with an airtight, energy efficient, quiet  and healthy home for them to enjoy for many years to come. FOAMcast - An Emergency Medicine Podcast FOAMcast We believe in the educational merits of Free Open Access Medical education (FOAM), which includes podcasts, blogs, articles on PubMed Central, conferences streamed for free and more. As a result, we would like to encourage others to move beyond quoting podcasts and into the realm of tying "cutting edge" FOAM to the core content. We'll provide some review and references for listeners to go read. Why, indeed, should we FOAM it alone when FOAM can inspire us to go, read, think, and be excellent? Frithiof Saga by Ferdinand Schmidt Loyal Books Iceland is the home of the Saga, a form of literature which includes the telling of the story of a hero’s life and adventures in a fixed, regular form, and which is usually intended for recitation, though the Saga is never set in the customary versified style of poetry. A large number of these Sagas, relating to Iceland, Greenland, North America, and the Norse countries, still remain, and among them the Frithiof Saga, narrating the stirring adventures of that hero of the Northland and Viking of its seas, is one of the most beautiful. Its subject is noble, heroic, and free from exaggerated description or overwrought sentiment. Frithiof is a splendid type of the old Norse hero, invincible in battle upon the land, fearless of Nature’s wrath as he sails the seas in his dragon ship, impulsive yet just, swift in punishment yet quick in forgiveness. The central motives of the Saga are his love for King Bele’s daughter, Ingeborg; the refusal of her brothers to sanction their marriage because t Christmas Reindeer by Thornton W. Burgess Loyal Books Tuktu and her brother, Aklak, are Eskimo children who live happily with their beloved reindeer in the Northland. When Tuktu is lost in a fog, she meets Santa Claus or the Good Spirit as she knows him. This generous little girl wants to share her reindeer with the children of the world and so works to help Santa on his annual Christmas journey. - Summary by Jude Somers radionorthland radionorthland Pioneer 90.1 is KSRQ-FM, a student and volunteer-staffed radio station broadcasting from Northland Community & Technical College in Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks, MN.
