Na China, uma conta no SuperApp WeChat corresponde quase que a totalidade das vidas sociais e digitais dos usuários, simplesmente porque não há muitas alternativas existentes. Por lá, Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram e Signal, por exemplo, estão todos bloqueados. Os SuperApps oferecem diferentes ferramentas e serviços, além de promover a integração de várias funcionalidades em um único lugar. O objetivo é centralizar a maior parte ou quase todas as atividades online dos usuários. Elon Musk já está de olho nessa tendência popular no país oriental. Após a compra do Twitter, o empresário divulgou o chamado Project X, cujo intuito é construir a versão ocidental do WeChat.
