Diante de pesquisa sobre as relações entre pais, filhos e os novos desafios que surgem com o crescimento do acesso de crianças e adolescentes à internet provocado pela pandemia da Covid-19, a professora Márcia avalia as mudanças no ambiente e na relação familiar. Ela evidencia que novos contornos foram dados à mediação parental para uso das ferramentas com a pandemia, aumentando ainda mais os desafios da mediação dos pais. A professora Márcia comenta também sobre as expectativas do retorno às atividades presenciais e os possíveis impactos na rotina familiar. Possui doutorado em Ciências Sociais pela Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (2004) e pós-doutorado em Educação pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (2013). É graduada em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1992) e mestre em Psicologia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1996). É Professora da Graduação e do Programa de Pós-graduação de Psicologia da PUC Minas. Membro do Conselho de Ética em Pesquisa da PUC Minas. Autora e organizadora de diversos livros Juventude e Cultura Digital. Atuou como professora convidada na Universidad de La Sabana - Colômbia, lecionando na Facultad de Psicología em 2019. É líder do grupo do CNPq Família, juventude e cultura digital e pesquisadora do grupo Grupo de Pesquisa em estudos Geracionais da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Bolsista Pesquisador Mineiro da Fapemig (2018-2020) e Pesquisador CNPq. Atua principalmente nos seguintes temas: adolescência, juventude, família, relações afetivas, virtualidade, redes sociais virtuais e gênero.
