Planetary Sect Explained: Why Your Malefic Hits Different Based on Your Birth Time

from I Am Astrology Readings Podcast with Paul Heath

Not all planets work the same way in your chart — and it has nothing to do with the sign they are in. In Hellenistic astrology there is a concept called sect and it determines which planets are on your team and which ones are working against you. In this episode Paul Heath of I Am Astrology Readings reveals the day team and the night team. Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn belong to the day. Mars, Venus, and Moon belong to the night. And Mercury — Mercury goes both ways. But it gets deeper than that. Each planet has a house it truly enjoys — a place in the chart where it operates at full power. The Sun finds joy in the 9th, the Moon in the 3rd, Jupiter in the 11th, Venus in the 5th, Saturn in the 12th, Mars in the 6th, and Mercury right in the 1st. And here is where it gets real — the malefic that is out of sect hits harder than the one that belongs to your chart. If you are a day birth Mars is the one coming for you. If you are a night birth Saturn is kicking your ass. Knowing this one concept changes how you read every chart you will ever look at.Topics covered: sect in Hellenistic astrology, day team vs night team, which planets belong to day and night, planetary joys and their houses, malefics in and out of sect, why Mars is worse for day births and Saturn is worse for night births, Mercury as the hermaphrodite planet.Takeaways:Sect divides planets into two teams — day team is Sun Jupiter Saturn, night team is Mars Venus Moon, Mercury belongs to bothMars belongs to the night team — Martian events like violence, aggression, and danger tend to happen after darkEach planet has a Joy house where it operates at full strength — Sun 9th, Moon 3rd, Jupiter 11th, Venus 5th, Saturn 12th, Mars 6th, Mercury 1stSaturn in the 12th is not actually a bad placement — Saturn enjoys being there, it is literally on vacationPeople with Saturn in the 12th are comfortable with isolation, melancholy, and solitude — they are not suffering, they are at homeThe malefic out of sect is the one that hits hardest — day births watch out for Mars, night births watch out for SaturnMercury determines its sect by whether it rose before or after the Sun on your birth dayThis is the foundation you need before you can properly read any Firdaria periodFirdaria Explained: The Hellenistic Timing Technique That Maps the Chapters of Your LifeLinks referenced in this episode:iamastrologyreadings.comCompanies mentioned in this episode:IamastrologyreadingsPayPalVenmoCash AppSupport the mythic classroom: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/supportBook a Reading: https://i-am-astrology-readings.captivate.fm/book-reading#astrologyrideoftheday
