Uno de los índices para medir el conflicto armado es el uso de las minas antipersona. En Colombia todos los actores armados, incluyendo al Ejército Nacional, han utilizado este tipo de armas para generar terror. La historia de su uso en el país se remonta a la década de 1970, época en que eran llamadas “minas quiebrapatas” y siempre las comunidades más pobres han sido las más perjudicadas por este flagelo.
