When you meet someone, they usually dont show their true colors for another 2-3 months because all the facade fades after 6-8 dates and you get to see who you might be spending the rest of your time with and if it is worth it. Whether you’re dating someone, adopting a dog or taking a new job, it takes three months to figure out what you’ve gotten yourself into. Instead of seeing the person objectively, you see them for who you want them to be. Your object of desire is laden with fantasies and projections. We think it takes about three months to strip away the layers and start to see this person for who they really are but you might not feel the same.
