The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has put a spotlight on systemic health capacity and coverage issues in the U.S. With cases and deaths rising steadiliy, the ability to test and treat all patients, including the uninsured, continue to be a challenge. There are questions about the out-of-pocket costs patients who are uninsured or under-insured may face. Our guest today Dr. Katandria L Johnson, is a multi-lingual, nationally certified speech-language pathologist and public health researcher. She will share her insights on public health and emergency preparedness to tackle the outbreak.   Johnson has spent over 20 years working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) children with a variety of speech-language-hearing disorders in her private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She is the founder of Dr. Love’s Healthcare, a non-profit helping multicultural families gain continuity and coordination of care for pediatric rehabilitation therapies and a second business, Dr. Love’s Integrative Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine, LLC, helping families live healthier lives.
