Oktober 1972 an der damaligen Universität Karlsruhe Deutschlands erste Fakultät für Informatik gegründet.Aus diesem Anlass feierte die Fakultät für Informatik am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) am 12. und 13. Oktober ihren 40. Geburtstag und lud dazu viele Ehrengäste, ihre Studenten und Mitarbeiter sowie alle technikinteressierten Menschen auf den Campus des KIT ein.
