What is your relationship and history with the book of Revelation? 2. What is something that has stayed with you from the sermon- either as encouraging, confusing, or curious? 3. Why is it so important to understand context before studying Scripture? 4. Read Revelation 1:12-20. What do you see happening in this scene? 5. As you look at verses 17-18, consider the power these words would have held as encouragement to those seven churches. What do you notice? 6. Discuss the visual of a church being a lamp stand. What meaning does that carry to you?
