Rodney Baltimore interviews President Henrietta Davis of the Sistrunk Historical Organization and Entertainment Chair Sebastian Broomfield for the '44th Annual Sistrunk Parade & Festival taking place on Saturday February 24, 2024. Dr. James Sistrunk MD was one of the few Medical Doctor serving the Black Community of Fort Lauderdale during Jim Crow Segregation and delivered thousands of African American babies. The 44th Sistrunk Parade & Festival will celebrate his life. Events start with a 5K Walk & Run sponsored by Owner of Smithy's Wings and former State Senator Chris Smith starting at 7am at the Rev. Samuel Delevoe Park. The Park will start at 8am at Lincoln Park Annex on Sistrunk Blvd (NW 6th Street) and the festival will be held on Sistrunk Blvd between NW 13th Avenue to NW 9th Avenue. Grand Marshalls will be Vice Mayor of Fort Lauderdale Pamela Beasley-Pittman, Educator Darlene Scott, and Community Activist Lillian Small There will be a number bands, Masonic, Greek, and Community organizations for more contact (954) 779-4376
