A district attorney in New Mexico is defending her decision to let nearly all defendants in a Santa Fe rioting case avoid jail time The decision by District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies, who serves a three-county region that includes Santa Fe, is part of a concept called "restorative justice," The entire Los Lunas school board has been suspended due to evidence that certain members have violated procurement and public access laws, the state Public School Code, and professional ethical standards, according to a release from the New Mexico Public Education Department. COVID-19 breakthrough cases rare in New Mexico Health officials say only a small fraction of fully vaccinated people have still contracted COVID-19, with those cases being called breakthrough infections. The CDC released a new report on the phenomenon Tuesday and according to them, more than 10,000 breakthrough cases were reported as of April 30.That's among some 101 million fully vaccinated people. The breakthrough cases make up a small percent of all COVID-19 cases. The CDC admits their system relies on voluntary reporting and some of those breakthrough cases could be asymptomatic, so they may go untested and unreported.
