S2 #06 COVID Weddings, Food and Drink Service - Laura and Benny Show - The Second Wave

from Laura and Benny Show - Laura Redhead Benson · host Laura and Benny Media

Laura and Benny give couples a sense of what food and drink service is like for COVID Weddings. Couples raised the question as to whether late food was still being served. Laura set about getting a fell for how a few venues are dealing with night food while the Cinderella COVID Curfew is in place.  Some off topic but helpful ideas are given on various music options and bringing live music into the dining section of the day. Less relevant, Benny brings up the spectacular Autumn weather for a Saturday in October, Laura scolds him for rubbing it in. The Safety Protocol is outlined regarding service. That is, in general aimed at individualising as opposed to sharing and minimising movement by guests. All aimed at reducing transmission of COVID. Interestingly mentioned is the difficulty that may be faced when guest numbers go to 100, if table service is still a rule (lots of wait staff needed). Tips are given on home safety for the morning preparations.  Reception food and drink ideas are thrown out there, everything from serving cake to toasted sandwiches and bovril (and many more normal ideas, Benny is threading on thin water). Dining in general is all about staying seated in your pods, individualised salt, pepper, water, spuds and cheese cake. Alternatives like food vans are put in the mix, and dining in domes becomes a reality in Cork.
