We are encouraged in scripture to do the works of obedience and repentance. If you accept it at face value, you m8ght find yourself trying to win brownie points from heaven. Or you m8ght conclude that righteousness can be earned through deeds. We look at the most critical compoment of works of obedience and repentance: Why Do we do it? If we are unclear of the impetus, the reward becomes unclear. We will swear that we've been a good christian and deserving of a sports car and private island.
