Episode Description
This audio program examines relationships between violence and mental illness. This issue looks at psychiatric characteristics of homicide defendants, differences in mental illness between gang members and other men with violent behavior, and aggression in a child with Asperger's disorder. It also features a study of the relationship between firearms availability and suicide risk, a trial of prazosin for treatment of nightmares in combat-related PTSD, a study comparing cognitive-behavioral therapy and short-term psychodynamic therapy for depression, and a long-term study on the effects of antipsychotics in Alzheimer's disease.
