L'aria è assicurata da un "generatore di ossigeno". L'unico divertimento è assicurato da particolari sale in cui viene riprodotta virtualmente la vita sulla Terra di molti anni prima. Qualsiasi forma di ribellione viene punita con la reclusione in apposite prigioni, atte a rendere i detenuti "mentalmente invalidi".
