Luke Monaldo
Luke “Mo” Monaldo grew up in Kansas, playing football and baseball. In high school, he was on teams that contended for state titles in both sports. He was also a member of the 2003 KSHAA 6-A State Powerlifting Championship team at Hutchinson High School, bringing home an individual Powerlifting Squat title (385 lb winning lift), as well a 3rd place overall finish in his weight class (165 lb) as a 17-year old his junior year.Monaldo went on to earn a scholarship to Marshall University where he played for the Marshall University Rugby Team. Mo had an instant impact as a freshman, scoring a 60-yd try the very first time he touched the ball in his first career start, Week 1 against Ohio University in Athens, OH and earning the nickname “X-Factor”. He went on to start the rest of the 2004 season, scoring twice (1-yd, 25-yds) to lead the Thundering Herd to a homecoming victory against the University of Dayton Flyers, on his way to 2004 Ohio Valley Conference Rookie of the Year honors.Monal
