Stephen Malbon of Malbon Golf

from Helio-Tropes · host Yash Zadeh

Stephen Malbon is a golf addict who will never recover from it. The founder of Malbon Golf joins us to talk about his interest in music and art—starting from the days of co-founding FRANK 151 to building a golf brand inspired by whatever lifestyle interests cross his mind. We get into his history growing up in Virginia and the early sounds and brands that helped shape his identity. Yash explains how he was captivated by the Futura2000 collaboration with Malbon and what it meant to those in the know. Stephen shares the backstory of how a failed collaboration ended up leading to a collab with Ghostface Killah, and how the Chief Keef Glo Gang collab came out of a longstanding relationship. We also talk about Bieber catching the golf bug, Alice Cooper's obsession with the game, and how one putt set Yash on his fairway journey in this special golf edition of HT.

And yet Lionel brings to the table his own savory: A love of the mother tongue and a gonzo vocabulary that puts his logo on all his works, whether talk-show hosting, standup-comic spritzing, or hanging out – with himself a minor art form.” lionelmedia.com @LionelMedia The Case of the Greater Gatsby Shipwrecked Comedy Set in 1940s Hollywood, this comedic film noir mystery follows hardboiled private eye Ford Phillips and his feisty, fast-talking partner Fig Wineshine as they delve into the seedy underbelly of Tinsel Town while trying to solve the murder of famed novelist-turned-screenwriter F. Trope on a Rope The Badger's Apprentice TROPE ON A ROPE is a weekly podcast where Jeff and his mate Colin, along with their guests discuss and dissect the common movie tropes that have come to define cinema. From the high concept sci-fi mind-f**k that contorts ideas of reality and identity; the young and naive small-town musician who is thrown into the deep-end world of money, high fashion and fame; and the brooding anti-hero whose methods test the bounds of an audiences acceptance; to the grizzled cop that will work the case no matter what their superiors say; the time-loops that allow our protagonist years’ worth of personal growth in day; and those films where Liam Neeson just f**kin’ punches shit in the face. We’ll look at them all, compare, contrast, and contemplate which are raised up the flag-pole for all to salute, and which are hoisted by their own petard.
