StoryCorps Chicago: “Sometimes we go through things so we can be a help to other people”

from WBEZ · host WBEZ

Beth Johnson and Cynthia Cornelius met each other at the Daley Center. Beth was the supervising attorney there for Cabrini Green Legal Aid. She ran a help desk for people who wanted to seal their criminal records. Cynthia was a law school student in her fifties, a volunteer at the desk. They came to StoryCorps recently where Cynthia described how one of her children motivated her to start law school at age 55. WBEZ's Bill Healy produced this excerpt. This story was produced through a partnership between StoryCorps and Cabrini Green Legal Aid.
