A rendező szerint alig változott valami az iskolákban a nyolcvanas évek óta, sőt, mintha lehangolóbb lenne az összkép. Szerinte a magyar filmes közegben ugyanaz játszódott le, mint sok más területen is az országban: politikai céllal dilettánsokat neveztek ki pozícióba, és megrendelésre készülnek olyan filmek, amiknek nincs kulturális értéke. Szimler Amerikában folytatja karrierjét, de külföldre költözése előtt még mindenképp szeretett volna Magyarországon filmet csinálni.
