Message by Todd Crosthwaite, Lead Pastor In every temptation, there is always more at stake than what you think. Can God be trusted? Matthew 3:16-17 Matthew 4:1-3 Jesus came to break the power of sin in your life. 3 temptations: 1, meet a legitimate need in an illegitimate way 2, use God to accomplish our own ends 3, do the right thing at the wrong time in the wrong way Every single time you’re tempted… your future at stake; your faith is at stake. Temptation is always a test of your faith, not just your self-control. Connecting the dots: my temptation ←→ “can God be trusted?” Matthew 4:3-4 What is the area of your life where you are most tempted to meet a legitimate need in an illegitimate and irresponsible way? “Today, I trust you.” we have been called to cooperate with God, not manipulate God; the people who are most disappointed with God are people who have never fully surrendered to God.

This community is unlike any other — We enjoy a fellowship that encourages, helps, and supports each other like family. In fact, our bond is made much stronger than a normal family — It is not founded upon our blood, but upon the blood of Christ. RENEWED. The only reason we can enjoy our fellowship together is because of the fellowship we have in Christ by faith. We were all once cut off from fellowship with God, but in Jesus Christ our fellowship with God has been renewed. CHURCH. We do not gather as a people for our glory — We fellowship in the name of the Son of God, by the Spirit God, according to the Word of God. As a unified community, God’s Word guides our every step — He has defined who we are to be and how we are to live.“that which we have seen and heard we proclaim also to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; a
