The Antiquary Volume I - Chapter Seventh

In which Sir Arthur and his daughter, intent upon a peaceful walk, find themselves imperilled by a rapidly rising tide and gathering tempest upon the dangerous sands and rocky coast near Knockwinnock, their perilous situation illuminated by the courageous aid of the beggar Edie Ochiltree and the bold Lovel. Amidst the roar of the storm and the crash of waves, they seek refuge on a narrow ledge, clinging to hope as distant shouts signal the approach of possible rescue.
