The Benefits of Isolation in the Age of Quarantine ; A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer's Perspective
from Bolivia 12 Podcast · host Samir Saluja & Jason Phillips
In our inaugural episode, we got the chance to spend time with fellow Bolivia 12vr Araby Patch over a Zoom call in early March 2020, to discuss his perspectives on the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent quarantine which was ordered in the several US States only a week prior. Araby served in Peace Corps Bolivia from 1995-1997, supporting rural sanitation projects while stationed in the village of Buena Vista in the State Department of Santa Cruz. During the episode, we discussed a wide variety of things while reflecting on the isolation we experienced as Peace Corps Volunteers, and how we were able to deal with it and ultimately develop internal strength through reading, writing, and overcoming fears.
