The Boohag and How my Great Grandmaw would tell it.

I was asked by a friend on tiktok to tell my favorite story of my great grandmothers, as I recalled it from childhood. I immediately thought of The Gullah legend of the Boohag. Maybe it’s because I have always lived for the scarier side of the folktales or maybe it’s because i feel as tho she was leaving me with help for later on in my own life. There’s another of my favorite tales, as told by her, that is the story of a bird & three trees, that tale tells us why some trees loose their leaves during winter & one particularly does not, that will be the next podcast episode.
