Dave asks Matt some questions about Sunday's sermon from Genesis 2:18-25.  Here are the questions from this week: What does it mean that Eve is Adam’s helper? If God is Israel’s helper- what are the parallels/differences? You made the point about Adam not being able to carry out his divine calling without his divine helper, Eve… does that mean men or women can’t fulfil their divine calling without being married? Do we make too much of Adam being made before Eve? Is it really that significant? What is the significance of Jesus’ quoting these words? How is it that man and woman “fit” together to be one flesh? How do man and woman complete each other? How can this passage possibly be relevant for people who are single? Your point that in heaven you won’t be married to Kath, but she will be your second best friend in heaven. That might sound like singles will miss out on a second best friend in Heaven… will that be the case? How does the Bible’s teaching of men and women being made complementary subvert what our culture says? Why is it God’s good design?
