The Case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson

from Totally Innocent · host Alexander E Ryken

Welcome back to episode 18 of the Totally Innocent podcast and welcome to week 1 of the spooky season! This week we will be taking a look at the Case of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, or, "the devil made me do it" case. That's right, the case of Arne Johnson is what the movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is based on. Arne claims to be a victim of demonic procession in the first case in US history to use such a tale as a case for their defense. It didn't play out well with the judge.  As a fan of the conjuring universe and spooky tales in general, for the month of October we will be looking at different spooky cases. F*ck Surviving, We're Thriving Malina Lopez Hello beautiful humans! I have been on my holistic healing journey since 2020 after a massive awakening thanks to a sound healing ceremony. Since then I have dedicated my free time to health and healing (when I'm not too consumed with being a mama of two). Health is something that has always been important to me, but healing myself in a holistic way has allowed me to become a version of myself I am truly proud of. I had no idea there was an option for living life outside of survival mode. As someone who has been in some state of fight, flight or freeze since I was a small child the idea of any other life seemed out of reach and down right unrealistic. I honestly thought how I was living and feeling was totally normal. Once I started to heal all parts of myself down to the cells I am made up of I realized life is so much more than people pleasing, anxiety attacks and living life in a haze. I've been exciting that survival mode and entering my era of thriving.  I feel ready and so e Explicit Straight to the Dome Kirby Gregory Straight to the Dome. It's a veritable cornucopia of culture. A culture-copia, if you will. For each series of episodes, we'll pick a theme, exemplified by one book, one movie, and one game. We'll spend one episode discussing each piece of media on its own, then swing back to discuss all three in relation to the theme as a whole. Topics are announced a month in advance, if you'd like to read/watch/play along with us. If you'd rather not, that's cool too; the beginning of every episode is totally spoiler-free. It's like a super-relaxed book club, but then also two other clubs, which are about movies and games instead of books. Whether you're in it for the long haul or just sticking around until the spoiler break, we hope you enjoy the show as much as we enjoy making it.
