The Commonwealth Beat with Laura LeBeau is a statewide Public Affairs program airing on all of the Seven Mountains Media Pennsylvania radio stations.  Schools across Pennsylvania took part in activities to celebrate National School Lunch week (Oct. 14-18), with state and federal officials fanning out to schools across the Commonwealth, touting the U.S. commitment to feeding America's youth during their school years.   On this episode, a brief discussion about the importance of school lunches with USDA Deputy Under Secretary, Cindy Long. Also on this episode, a conversation about employment opportunities for women with the Pennsylvania State Police.  The agency is making a big push to recruit more women to their ranks, as Lt. Dawn Carpenter will explain.  In the PA-mazing segment, it's off to God's country, Potter County, and the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania.
