Whilst trying to sit through yet another of the Scientist's dreadfully dull ponerology lessons, the Demon comes to a sudden epiphany... maybe the Scientist isn't the best suited to teach the gang how to embrace their evil ways. In the underworld, there is a dedicated competition devoted to figuring out who is the most nefarious being... a competition called the evilympics. Dragged into the fray alongside the Wandering Wizards, the Mice and a group of bonafide supervillains, will the Attic Gang be able to hold their own and prove how evil they truly are? The Scientist seems reluctant, the Gremlin seems bloodthirsty and Brian the Robot seems like they have something they need to say...

Rocket Book, The by Peter Newell (1862 - 1924) LibriVox The Rocket Book can be listened to while viewing a beautiful facsimile edition at the International Children's Digital Libarary (ICDL): http://childrenslibrary.org/ The Rocket Book begins when the son of a building superintendent sets a match to a rocket he discovered in the basement. Suddenly, the rocket blasts its way up through apartment after apartment in a high-rise, disrupting and transforming the humdrum goings-on of twenty families till it is finally stopped cold by something in the attic. An elliptical hole is punched in each of the book's pages and illustrations to signify where the rocket passed through every apartment! As in all of Newell's books, the verse on the verso-page provides commentary on the recto-page illustration. This book and Newell’s The Slant Book pioneered the “special format” children’s literature of today, such as pop-up books or cutout Pollyanna (version 2) by Eleanor H. Porter (1868 - 1920) LibriVox In a small town far out West, 11 year old Pollyanna loses her mother then her dad to disease. This book describes how the orphan is sent to be raised by her aunt who lives far away in the East of the country. Unfortunately her aunt does not want her but accepts her very reluctantly only out of 'duty' and sticks her into a tiny hot attic room so she will be 'out of the way'. What Aunt Polly does not know is that Pollyanna is bringing the game of being 'glad' that her father taught her and that her irrepressible happy attitude will transform not only that dull and miserable house, but an entire village before she is through. (Summary by Phil Chenevert) An Irregular Miscellany: A selection of essays and lectures from the Common University A.F. Harrold Throughout the 1920s the Common University provided a free and ready source of education to the working classes of England through various lecture series and the distribution of educative pamphlets in the East End. At the time it renowned as a philanthropic exercise noted more for its good intentions than its practice of asking for lecturers' credentials. In the mid 1930s it shut down amid a small furore over the nonsense it was teaching. It was assumed by all involved that that would be the end of it.Then, toward the end of the 1990s the English poet A.F. Harrold discovered a box of papers in the attic of an elderly stranger. After exhaustive investigations, leads followed and clues uncovered he discovered that what he held in his hands were lecture notes, reports of speeches, lessons and seminars from the Common University long thought lost by educational historians. "Gosh," he thought, "This stuff's jolly interesting."Looking into the history of the Common University he found that t Get Ahead with James Mel James Mel How are some people able to get ahead in life and business and build multiple streams of income and incredible wealth so they have the security and freedom to call their own shots and live their dream life? While others seem to get stuck always spinning their wheels, caught in the rat race hitting that annoying glass ceiling and never being able to make progress toward their goals, usually relying on the next paycheck to get by?James Mel did everything he thought you were “suppose” to do, but still get caught in the rat race and spinning his wheels. He went to college and got decent grades while also working a part time job so he could pay his way through. Then landed a corporate job making $15.38/hour showing up to work early and leaving late to try and make a name for himself. At the time he lived in the attic above his parents’ garage to save money. He thought the way to get rich and get ahead in life was to work hard and save all your money being as frugal as possible. None of this
