The Hempy Hour, in appreciation of National Mental Health Awareness Month, has dedicated May's podcasts to introducing and having discussions with professionals within Mental Health Care Services. Our conversation with Shara was one of inspiration. Her journey is one of building resilience through changing the narrative, facing fears and practicing self compassion. In her words, "Vulnerability is Power". Shara is an independently licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from Lock Haven University and a master’s degree in social work from Howard University School of Social Work. She provides therapeutic support to enhance the lives of others through her specializations in grief, personality disorders, family trauma, compassion fatigue, military counseling, mindfulness mediation, ADHD and anxiety. Shara also is a Board Certified Tele-Mental Health Provider. Shara currently is building her private practice ‘ Holistic Healing Journey’ and her wellness consulting company called: ‘Journey To Licensure’ where she supports social workers through their licensure examinations combined with wellness coaching.
