Not only was there an angry mob yelling at Emma Smith while she was getting baptized, but that same day, Joseph was arrested twice even though he did nothing wrong. This must have been scary for Emma.In all this opposition, how could Emma know that she was doing the right thing? The same way we can know it—through revelation from the Lord. the Lord counseled, "Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days.Did you know the Lord called Emma an Elect Lady? "Elect" means chosen, selected, or set apart. The Lord had chosen Emma to do certain things. He also has chosen you to help his work too! And he will give you power and blessings to do so. there is something pretty amazing about doctrine and covenants 25 that we read this week. President Nelson recently promised the women of the Church that if we prayerfully studied this revelation, the Holy Ghost would teach us how to access the power of God in our lives.
