It was a downward spiral for the Sydney Swans after their big Grand Final loss in 2024 to the Cats. Dean Cox was elevated to the Senior Coaching role and didn't find it easy. Injuries to key players, impacting their ball movement and structure and a bizarre position movement to a Key Position player at the start of the season, left everyone scratching their heads. They have gone big and bold in the off season, moving on a few player like Will Hayward and Ollie Florent, in order to lure the big fish in Charlie Curnow.
