The Substance: Body horror's reflection on beauty, aging, and identity

from Planet Nude · host Brett Marcella

The Substance is a mad, mad film. At times it’s more like a particularly unhinged episode of Black Mirror or the Twilight Zone than it is a movie, and it revels in violent and grotesque body horror. It's not subtle, and often feels like it’s bludgeoning you with what it wants to say. It is absolutely the wildest movie that I saw in 2024, nothing else even comes close. It is certainly not for the faint of heart, especially those who hate needles. But why am I reviewing it here? Because, while it’s a pretty simple, gruesome movie, all things considered, its messages should be strikingly familiar to the naturist community.Read the full article at www(dot)planetnude(dot)co This is a public episode. Tiarra Earls and Ali O’Shea, best friends who’s spiritual paths overlap thanks to their fascinating past life soul history, delve into what it means to evolve as an individual in a world that encourages destructive behaviors and beliefs that keep many people mentally depleted and stagnant. The ultimate goal in this lifetime, for every soul on this planet, is to become the best version of yourself, but this planet does not make that process easy.No topic is off limits with these two ladies who often use colorful language and humor to share their profound tales of interaction with gods, angels and other divine beings, divulge tips and tricks to help others navigate their own self improvement, and discuss conspiracies and controversial social topics that that only the bravest would take on. The stories are authentic, the advice is useful and the rabbit hole is deep!  Oz 9 Gated Galaxies It's Spring 2142 (a Tuesday), and Gated Galaxies has launched its 400 Oz-8000 ships, each carrying 50,000 "resting guests" to, hopefully, a new home on a shiny, brand-new planet. Except this whole "terraform and take over" idea isn't actually the plan; the real plan is far more nefarious and involves a great deal of cackling. But those aboard the ships don't know that, so off they toodle (those that make it out of Earth's atmosphere, at least), all shiny and optimistic. This is the story of one of those ships – the Oz 9 – and its tiny crew of hopeless incompetents. So far, they've been in space half an hour and several hundred people are dead. So... bright future, clearly.
