The Sweet Life, Part 4: Patience

from Faith Family Church · host Pastor Josh Joines

This week, we’re diving into patience—a quality many of us struggle with but desperately need. Could you use more love, joy, peace, and yes, patience in your life? If so, you're in the right place!🚦 We spend a large part of our lives waiting, whether in traffic, at stores, or on hold. Together, this waiting can total nearly a decade of our lives! What if those moments are God's invitations to develop patience?Patience is more than a personality trait; it's a vital fruit of the Spirit. As Proverbs says, "It is better to be patient than powerful." The secret to developing patience is partnering with God in these growth opportunities:Interruptions and Inconveniences: Embrace these as moments to allow the Holy Spirit to work in you, just as Jesus did.Gaining Wisdom: Patience grows with wisdom, offering a higher perspective and understanding.Building Community: Engage in relationships, bearing with one another to foster patience and understanding.Cultivating Love: Love leads to patience. When you view others through the lens of love, you find more grace for them and yourself.Releasing Control: Actively wait for God's perfect timing, knowing His delays aren’t denials.Remember, God's timeline isn’t ours. A farmer knows that a bountiful harvest takes time, and so should we. Commit to staying connect to God, growing in patience, understanding that you're a work in progress under God's loving care.
