The Worshipper Draws Near

This talk was given by Scott McKay on our Church family weekend. It was part of a series of 4 on Leviticus. This talk was based on Leviticus 1:1-17. Some question you could discuss after you listen to the talk: 1) How does Leviticus 1:1 and Numbers 1:1 help us to understand the purpose of Leviticus? 2a) What are your thoughts and response to the truth that the LORD gives instruction on how He is to be worshipped? 2b) David Peterson wrote: “Worship is engaging with God on the terms that He proposes, and by the means which only He can provide.” Discuss. 2c) Where are we in danger of determining worship according to our desires rather than defined by the Book? 2d) How are your hands getting dirty in the worship of the LORD? 3) What does it mean for Jesus to be our substitute and how do we press into Him? 4a) What are your actions in worship of the LORD revealing about your attitude towards the LORD? 4b) As you evaluate your worship is it defective or blemished in any way? What needs to be done? 5) What is the goal of the sacrificial system and how does this inspire and encourage us in our worship?
