Derrick is an Oregon based Dairy Farmer, author of "An Industry Worth Fighting For", and one of the Farmer Owners of Tillamook! Quick Fact: Dairy Farming is a $45B a year industry and quite literally helps keep the American economy afloat. Our conversation covers topics such as state and federal government involvement in farming, the setting of milk prices, the history of the dairy industry, and the effects of 2019/2020 on dairy farming. We discuss and dispel many common challenges and misconceptions around the dairy farming industry and get into those pesky activists and their more egregious tactics to try and ruin the industry.
