President Joe Biden signed into law yesterday legislation designed to enhance domestic semiconductor manufacturing and alleviate supply chain bottlenecks. Specifically, the $280 billion CHIPS and Science Act dedicates more than $50 billion in grants for the semiconductor sector and related industries. The law also proposes to strengthen several programs related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics.Biden said the bill was in the best interests of America’s economic and national security.
