U.S. President Donald Trump has deployed a large military flotilla to the Middle East, larger than the one used in Venezuela, as tensions escalate with Iran. Neighbouring countries including Qatar, Egypt and Turkey are attempting to coordinate diplomatic talks between Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff and Iran later this week. Iran has warned it will retaliate and escalate if attacked, raising concerns about a potential regional war and questions about what happens if military strikes proceed.
