Universal Computing and the Turing Machine

Alan Turing was the founding father of the idea of universal computing which characterizes our modern digital world. This Saturday we celebrate his 100th birthday. "We're only seeing the beginning of the importance of the idea of universal computation, and computation in general. There is a lot more to come", says Stephen Wolfram, creator of the knowledge engine "Wolfram Alpha". In our interview, Wolfram talks to our reporter Vera Linß about Turing's significance, artificial intelligence, and the difference between computation and search.
