Danielle is based in Boston, where she resides with her husband, and twin 4-year-old boys (Vance & Xander). She holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering and has spent her entire professional career in Aviation. Danielle is currently the Vice President of Worldwide Customer Support & Aftermarket Sales for Commercial Aviation with Embraer where she leads a high-impact global team. Alongside her day job, she is committed to elevating the impact and presence of women in STE(A)M and is passionate about helping women actualize their full potential. She created the Unstuck Your Career Bootcamp for busy women on the verge of change, where she coaches women on the tactics, tools and strategies to dial in your purpose, get unstuck, level-up, and love what you do. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
