Using Affirmations In Our Life Have you ever thought about how many times a day you say something like "I'm so tired" or "I can't do this anymore"? If you're like us, it's probably a lot. But did you know that those kinds of thoughts can actually hold you back from reaching your full potential? That's because when we think negative things about ourselves, it creates a self-fulfilling prophecy. We tend to attract the same kind of situations into our lives and make it difficult for ourselves to improve in any way. Affirmations are a great way to build success in your life. According to Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, "you must know what you want and have the burning desire to possess it." If you have the desire, but don't know what you want, then your affirmation will be vague, and therefore ineffective. The first step is identifying the goal. This is where affirmations come in. An affirmation is a statement that you repeat over and over again until it starts to become true for you. For example: "I am so grateful for my new job." Say this statement every day as soon as you wake up until it becomes true for you. You will see results quickly because there is power in repetition. When we repeat an idea over and over again, we start believing that idea is true, even if at first it wasn't true or it didn't feel true at all when we said it aloud for the first time! Affirmations can also help us focus on our goals by helping us visualize what we want rather than just thinking about them all day long without any direction or action taken towards achieving them."
