The inseparable operations of the Trinity: where one is at work, all are at work. #2, the Holy Spirit is the Giver of life. John 3:7-8 3 ways that the Spirit gives life to the church: encounter, formation, and mission. #1, The Spirit and Encounter Ephesians 5:18-21 ...natural world vs supernatural world Gen 28 Psalm 24:1 Isaiah 6:3 ...a sacramental view of reality: all of creation is a sign of God’s presence and power; we can encounter God in ordinary things and everyday experiences. #2, The Spirit and Formation Galatians 5:16-23 Praying the Scriptures Colossians 3:16 The Holy Spirit speaks through what He has spoken. #3, The Spirit and Mission Acts 1:8 God’s empowering presence Gifts of the Spirit 1 Cor 12:4-7 A spiritual gift is the grace of God made visible in and through us. Spiritual gifts are divine abilities distributed by the Holy Spirit to every believer according to God’s design and grace for the common good of the body of Christ. Put your sail up!
