Headlong: Surviving Y2K Topic / Pineapple Street Media / Dan Taberski December 31, 1999: The world braced for disaster as midnight approached. Then, nothing happened. The hysteria over the Y2K computer bug quickly became an afterthought; a punch-line. In Surviving Y2K, Dan Taberski takes you back to the turn of the millennium to meet the people for whom it was anything but a joke — computer coders, conspiracy theorists, survivalists, and true believers — as they each face their own version of the apocalypse. And Dan tells a new millennium story of his own, about a decision that could destroy his life.Headlong is Dan Taberski’s documentary podcast that explores the lives of overlooked people, moments and events in our culture. Season 1 is Missing Richard Simmons. Season 3 is Running From COPS. Sunday Night Nuclear Heat Barrett Lewis Sunday Night Nuclear Heat is a podcast about current events, storylines, and news in pro wrestling focusing in on the product globally. Such promotions as WWE, AEW, ROH, NJPW, Impact, PWG, and more are discussed routinely. Each episode takes a deep dive into a particular topic - a specific wrestler, promotor or promotion, a historical event, top-10 lists, how we'd book the towns, etc. All from a fan perspective and good fun in promotion of the business overall. Life of Jesus Critically Examined, The by David Friedrich Strauss (1808 - 1874) LibriVox Strauss was an early pioneer in the ongoing 'Quest of the Historical Jesus' movement, and his Life of Jesus is one of the few landmarks in the field. The first edition of Strauss' book was published in Germany in 1835, when he was only 27 years old. He focused his attention on battling two theological fronts which were current at the time - the biblical Literalists who believed the miracles in the Gospels were to be taken as literal history, and the Rationalists, who believed that the Gospel miracles were true but could be explained by natural and rational causes. Strauss rejected both camps and, in a historical analysis of the Gospels that was scrupulous and exhaustive, concluded that our knowledge of the Historical Jesus is hopelessly buried under layers of legend and myth. The price that Strauss paid for publication was high – his book scandalized Europe, and cost him his job as Chair of Theology at the University of Zurich, and ultimately his career.
