A proud alumna of Tuskegee University, she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Poultry Sciences in 2004. Her academic excellence was recognized with a Tuskegee University Presidential Academic Scholarship, kickstarting her career dedicated to service in veterinary medicine. As CEO of Boyd Veterinary Services and Consulting, LLC, Dr. Boyd provides mentorship for youth interested in veterinary careers and supports young minority students navigating their paths. She also consults for organizations aiming to enhance cultural competence in veterinary care. Previously, she served as Chief Veterinary Medical Officer for Companion Animals for Reform and Equity (CARE), where she worked to bridge the access gap in veterinary care for BIPOC and marginalized communities. Her mission stems from a deep understanding of the barriers to equitable care, influenced by her family heritage and diverse cultural experiences. An active member of professional associations, including the AVMA and GVMA, Dr. Boyd has received certifications from the University of Pennsylvania and Wharton Online. As a sought-after international speaker, she presents on improving veterinary care and cultural competency. Her contributions have been featured in various publications and media, establishing her as a leading voice in advancing veterinary medicine. Through her impactful work, Dr. Boyd inspires change and strives for a future where animal healthcare is accessible and compassionate for all.
