What does it mean to remember the Sabbath? God rested on the 7th day after 6 days of creation. Do you think the maker of the universe needed a break? Probably not. God reflected on all he had made. We need that time in our week to recharge. We need to remember who God is and regain the strength to complete our works the next week. Without rest and recharging, we cannot properly be the workers, the wives, or the mothers that God is calling us to be. It is sometimes hard for us to not feel lazy as we take this rest, like we are not contributing to our household. There is a difference between rest and laziness. Rest is a reward for a job well done, while laziness is an excuse to not complete what needs done.

Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God finished his work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work that he had done. So God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it God rested from all his work that he had done in creation.”
‭‭
‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭23‬-‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬
“One Sabbath he was going through the grainfields, and as they made their way, his disciples began to pluck heads of grain. And the Pharisees were saying to him, “Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?” And he said to them, “Have you never read what David did, when he was in need and was hungry, he and those who were with him: how he entered the house of God, in the time ofAbiathar the high priest, and ate the bread of the Presence, which it is not lawful for any but the priests to eat, and also gave it to those who were with him?” And he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.””
