Why "Cancel Netflix" is Trending (The Patrick Madrid Show)

from The Best of the Week · host Relevant Radio

Image via TY Lim / Shutterstock. On The Patrick Madrid Show, Patrick and producer Cyrus unpack why the hashtag “Cancel Netflix” is making waves again. This time, the controversy centers on Dead End: Paranormal Park, an animated series with a transgender lead character that looks and feels like it’s made for kids as young as seven. Patrick and Cyrus warn that this kind of messaging manipulates children at a vulnerable age, echoing earlier scandals like Cuties, Jurassic Park: Camp Cretaceous, and CocoMelon. . Cyrus even shares that he canceled his own subscription, explaining how Netflix gives users the option to state their reason — and he made it clear it was because of the company’s push to normalize gender ideology for kids. Together, they crunch numbers on how much revenue Netflix could lose if just half a million subscribers followed suit — potentially over $100 million annually. They also note Elon Musk’s public support of the boycott and raise the question: will Netflix finally get the message? There's truly a growing movement among parents and Catholic families who are fed up with the direction of streaming entertainment and are choosing to take a stand by walking away. Will you join the movement and cancel your Netflix?  The best way to listen to the Best of the Week is on our #1 Free Catholic App. It’s free and always will be!
